The Bells and Whistles

Hello, brothers and sisters in Christ! I want to take the time to talk about the bells and whistles of our organ; no, literally, the bells and whistles. We have an Allen Organ, and the particular model is Renaissance. With that being said, this organ is so much more than just physical pipes.

For starters, our organ has real physical pipes, but it also incorporates the use of digital pipes.…

The Feet?

I remember the first time I sat behind an organ. I had just started playing the piano, and it was a Hammond B-2 organ, and I looked down and was floored! The organ is much more than background music in a movie, or even…

A Reflection on 2019

The reality of the ending of 2019 is that this year had highlights and drawbacks.

Personally, this year began on a high note,…

The Fun in Waiting

Isaiah, the prophet, said it well, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

As the new organist here at Salem, I have an interesting perspective. I have pastored in the Baptist denomination for many years, and I have learned that…
