Why Faith?

Why is faith so important in our lives as Christians? Faith allows us to believe in something that we cannot see, feel, or touch. Matters of God require us to believe and rest on the Word of God.

In the Old Testament, God would reveal Himself to His people in amazing ways. People would have faith in God, but some would go back to worshipping idols.

In the New Testament, Jesus walked on the earth and performed miracles, but many people still did not believe that He was the Son of God.

In the present day, God still reveals Himself to us. He is present in our lives. However, many people come up with rationalizations to explain away the work of God. They don’t give Him credit. It takes faith in God to realize the work He is doing every day.

As Christians we live by faith. Faith in God allows us to overcome hardships and to forgive others. Faith in God allows us to love one another and to claim God’s promises into our lives. Without faith it would be difficult to overcome the challenges of life.

As Christians we have faith that as we follow God’s will on earth, we will have eternal life with Him in heaven.

Now faith is the assurance of what we hope for and certainty of what we do not see.
— Hebrews 11:1

Truly I tell you that if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea’ and has no doubt in his heart but believes that it will happen, it will be done for him.
— Mark 11:23

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
— 1 John 5:13
