A Father’s Role

Father’s Day is Sunday, June 18. The role of a father originated with God, our Heavenly Father, and is both a role and a calling. It is an important one to love and care for children as God loves and cares for us.
Just as we look at God as our protector, we look at our father the same way. Fathers are important people in our lives. They influence who we are inside and out. A father’s relationship with his children will reflect how his children relate with other people throughout their lives.
A father tends to have great dreams for his children. He is a motivator and a long-range planner, and has big dreams for his kids. Sometimes these are hard to attain, but it is also good to always have someone behind you to support you and be your number one fan!
If your dad is still in your life, do something special with him this week. He may enjoy time spent with you more than a gift. If your dad is no longer with you, pray for him and think about the memories that you made together. Even if your relationship was not the best, remember that God placed this person in your life for a reason.
