Hello, Summer!

It seems like summer goes by fast once it officially starts. Of course, if you have lived in the Midwest for a while you know that summer weather usually happens long before summer begins. However, it is still over in a blink of an eye. It is because we anticipate it so much. There is so much to plan into 3-4 months before the weather starts to get cool again and summer activities like swimming and boating cease to exist.

We also tend to complain about summer, too. We might say it is too hot or humid or I want the cool weather to come back. I am sure not many of us say they want winter to return, but humans are rarely satisfied with the weather. We cannot blame it on anyone, so it is easy to talk about. However, we must remember that God made every season with a special purpose on this Earth. Each season is equally important, even though it might not always be comfortable for us.

The next time you walk outside and a hot blast of heat hits you in the face, remember this verse and Psalm:

Genesis 1:3: And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

Psalm 74:17: It was you who set all the boundaries of the earth; you made both summer and winter.

God knows what the earth needs and what we need! As always, we must put our faith in Him.

Now grab a hat and sunscreen, find some shade, and enjoy your summer!
