Growing Up at Salem

This June is my 12-year anniversary of becoming Salem’s worship and music director. This Sunday, my oldest child will be honored as one of Salem’s promising seniors graduating high school. Casey was in first grade when Salem became our church family.

When you come on Sunday, you will see many memories of this fantastic class of 2022 as they grew up at Salem. Together they have learned, played, sung, read scripture, led worship, bonded, served, and grown in their faith. You’ll see pictures of total silliness during VBS and Cornerstone, dressed up and proud to take their First Communion, and acting in musicals. We are so very proud of their hard work and accomplishments, and can’t wait to honor and celebrate them.

Thank you, our beloved congregation, for always supporting our kids. Salem is a place where we look out for each other, encourage and care for each other. Kids feel safe enough to lead worship with singing and reading because you tell them how much you appreciate them. Kids joyfully learn about how Jesus wants us to live because you take the time to teach them. We show God’s love by loving each other. I thank God for your blessings in our children’s lives.

In Christ’s love,
Heather Lewis
Director of Music and Worship
