Have Faith

We have just celebrated Easter. The Resurrection of Christ. We have spent time with families and friends and attended beautiful church services. However, I still find myself grieving for the sadness in the world right now. Sometimes I feel guilty for being happy and thankful for things in my life. This Bible verse comes to mind when I feel this way:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

This verse speaks to me so clearly when I am sad, scared, or not feeling good about things in general. It tells me to have faith and to trust. It also tells me not to interpret my own thoughts on how things will turn out. I must trust that God is in control, and he will lead me out of my sadness by encouraging me to help someone else.

The world is a scary place right now, but somehow God will make it right. I feel bad for people who do not have this faith to lean on. How do you watch the news each day if you do not have faith in God? Our world has faced tragedies in the past, and we always see people coming together to help each other. This is God’s work. He always prevails and we are eternally grateful.
