Back to School…on Time

Most Johnson County kids go back to school next week. My youngest starts on Thursday, and my oldest goes back Friday. Hopefully starting school on Friday the 13th won’t be unlucky. You might remember Friday the 13th in March 2020, when the kids were supposed to go back to school for one more day before spring break was to start but instead did not return in person for about six months.

On Thursday this week, we will give out toiletries and school supplies to our Pantry Pack families. This Sunday at church, backpacks and children will be blessed. Back-to-school season has officially begun!

Summer seems to have flown by, as it always does, but at least this time the kids weren’t off for half a year before going back. It was also nice to be able to get out more this summer — go places, see family and friends, and maybe even take a vacation or two.

For those of you who have kids who don’t want to get up for school Friday, you can always tell them that they have two days off if they go! (Saturday and Sunday)

I leave you with a little back-to-school humor from The Newsletter Newsletter.
