Wonderful Things are Happening

I drove a full van of our kids to Snow Creek Feb. 16, and loved listening to them sing at the top of their lungs. One youth who has always hesitated singing in church told me she wants to lead worship during that ride, so of course I said "when?" Come this Sunday and hear her beautiful voice!

At our first Wednesday evening Lenten service March 4, Marty Taylor did a fantastic presentation on the benefits of Hollis when our speaker had to cancel for an emergency. Greg Beutel played guitar during worship, which inspired a regular visitor to offer her talents. She played guitar for our service last night.

A group of parents of our youth met Sunday, March 8 to discuss our plans moving forward without a youth director. We brainstormed ideas and logistics for over an hour, leaving the meeting with dynamic plans for our kids to continue their education, service, and fellowship, and empowered by each other’s’ dedication and enthusiasm for the future of our youth at Salem.

Our organist William Canady has been writing Staff Trax about our amazing organ. He is planning to present a short concert that will highlight its features, and encourage people who attend to play it at the end of his presentation.

For the first time in many years, we are planning a youth-hosted Easter egg hunt between services on Easter morning.

Thank you to all who inspire us with their enthusiastic leadership! May you be encouraged by your family at Salem during this beautiful season.

In Christ's love,
Heather Lewis
Director of Music and Worship
