Experience God Like a Kid

This is my favorite week of the summer. Every morning, I get to spend 90 minutes with incredibly energetic, creative, thoughtful kids bringing a story from the Bible to life. This week we’re chasing spies, marching around the sanctuary, shouting “Hallelujah!”, and knocking down walls. But we’re also explaining the promises that God fulfills, wondering if He could really love us no matter what, and encouraging each other that when trouble is around, God will always see us through.

One of the reasons we put so much effort into opportunities for our kids to learn through Sunday school, assisting in worship, singing in choir, and serving others is so that their faith becomes real to them. They learn about how to care for each other as they learn how God always cares for us. They are engaged when it’s fun, and understand the peace and joy of trusting God while surrounded by friends. And they share it with us — and each other!

I invite you to experience Joshua’s story as our kids lead us this Sunday. Come knock down some walls with us, and be filled with the joy of the Lord!

In His love,
Heather Lewis
Director of Music and Worship
