Expect Miracles

I absolutely believe in miracles. If you’ve worked with me, you know that I’m all about the big picture — if something amazing occurs, I don’t question the details or try to figure out the magic. I’m married to an auditor, so I leave the explanations to him!

My take on unexpected blessings is to give thanks for the wonders, and keep searching for more. I have a friend who calls it “romping through my field of daisies.” I decided long ago that an occasional dose of reality is fine, but I seek out daisy fields in which to romp as often as possible.

Jesus called himself the Bread of Life, and those who believe in Him will never be hungry. He talked about the miracle of the bread from heaven: manna that God provided daily to the Israelites as they wandered in the desert for 40 years. Obviously, they needed the nourishment, but God also wanted them to rely on Him, and trust that he would be with them.

I asked my kids if they could think of any miracles, and they talked about baseball games turning around and being brave when they thought they’d be scared. Can you think of miracles in your life? They don’t have to be manna appearing from heaven or unexplained phenomena. Maybe a song gives you a message you didn’t realize you needed, or a friend appears when you needed a smile. Expect miracles — they are all around us!
